THE WEB SLINGER'S INSPIRATION - INSPIRED BY THE 60S

Foreword:

In conjunction of being a finalist in OMY Blog Award 2013, we are supposed to cook up a blog entry regarding someone/something in the 60s who inspired us.

Meh, 60s?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In case you do not know, yes, the biggest secret is out...

And as Spider-Man, this is what he has taught me...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. You do not go around earning money with your super powers.

Even with his super power, Peter Parker still needs to go to work, struggling to pay his bills.

You don't see Peter Parker getting paid for being Spider-Man, fighting crimes at night, either.

And the last time, when he tried to use his super powers to earn some quick cash, the next thing he knows...

His beloved Uncle Ben is dead.

Lesson Learnt: Super heroes also need money.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. You do not go around showing/telling people you are a super hero.

The reason why Peter Parker dons a mask when fighting crime as Spider-Man, was to avoid showing people that he is Spider-Man.

Reason?

To avoid those criminals to knock on his door, or in most cases, bombs his whole house.

And the last time, when Green Goblin knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man,

his girlfriend (Gwen Stacy) died.

And you wonder, Tony Stark was such a poor soul losing his whole house in Iron Man 3.

Lesson Learnt: A Superhero never ever disclose your true identity (or even where you stay)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Being a Super Hero means that you do not have a life of your own.

At day, he is Peter Parker.

At night, he is Spider-Man.

Tell me, how in this world are you going to have your own life if you are donning 2 identities in a day.

Man, he can't even go clubbing with his friends at night.

You can't really blame Peter Parker for attempting to give up being Spider-Man

at one point of his life.

Lesson Learnt: Being a super hero means no clubbing for you at night  your life is simply not your own anymore.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. As a super hero, you wouldn't get a lot of girlfriends.

If you think that being a super hero means that you will be surrounded by tons and tons of girls, then oh boy, you are so wrong.

If you are telling me Batman has tons of girls around him, STOP.

Girls surround Bruce Wayne, not because he is Batman, but because he is a multi millionaire.

Tony Stark has tons of girls around him? STOP.

That was way before he becomes Iron Man.

Look at Peter Parker, he didn't get together with his first crush , Liz Allan, due to difference in their social acceptance.

His first girlfriend, Gwen Stacy was also killed by Green Goblin.

And he has to go through so much to finally marry

Mary Jane Watson.

Lesson learnt: Being super hero doesn't automatically gets you into a lady's pants. Being rich, however, does.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are reading to this point, congratulations...

Because

The above post was simply just a introduction.

For the most important and only reason why Spider-Man inspire me is...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"With great power there must also come great responsibility"

 -The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (March 1963)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And this, my friend, is the true main point of this post, and also one of my principles in life.

P.S: And if you do not know...

Spider-Man actually made his first appearance in August 1962.

And that concludes and fulfils the requirment of my OMY Singapore Blog Award 2013, theme challenged blog entry.

~End~
